Join us for this half-day rappelling adventure.  Learn the art of controlled descent down a rock face using a rope.  The cliffs await when our group meets at beautiful Castle Rock State Park.  Your experienced and certified guides will start the day by gearing everyone up - each participant will use a helmet, harness and rappel device which uses friction on the rope to allow for a safe, controlled descent.  We enjoy a 20-30 minute nature hike through Castle Rock's inspiring forests to where the magic happens: a 90-foot sheer cliff next to Castle Rock Falls, a seasonal waterfall. Take in the view from the top, then your guides will cover proper descent technique and describe the rope systems we will be using.  Then comes the main event: experience the excitement of stepping over the edge and descending a sheer cliff under your own power.

The low teacher to student ratio (maximum 1:6) allows for  personalized instruction by our certified rock climbing staff.

During the day you will learn about:

Body positioning and movement

Safety equipment

No experience necessary.  Join us and experience this exciting skill usually reserved for climbers, canyoneers and rescue professionals.  Conveniently located in the Santa Cruz Mountains less than an hour from San Francisco and San Jose.  This trip makes for the perfect weekend adventure!
