Castle Rocks's proximity to the Bay Area and it's extensive trail system make this trip one of our most popular backpacking trips. Join us as we travel through the Santa Cruz mountains, climbing and gaining beautiful views of the Monterey Bay, passing by redwoods and Castle Rock's unique sandstone features. We make our camp where we relax, share adventure stories and enjoy a backcountry meals.
This trip is designed for beginners looking to explore the world of rockclimbing and backpacking who are in moderate to good physical condition, and are interested in learning about the skills and gear required to be safe and confident in the back country.

Trip meets on Monday morning at 8:00 am and returns on Tuesday at around 1:30pm
The trail is 3 miles to the campground and moderate
