This class opens up the world of outdoor climbing to you. Whether you are looking to just understand the principles of  anchors better or want to be a climbing leader to your friends.  This class is ideal for anyone looking to take their climbing to the next level. Treks and Tracks prides itself in teaching one of the most comprehensive series of advanced climbing classes available. This class is ideal for students who have knowledge in belaying and have some previous climbing experience. 

Our AMGA (American Mountain Guide Association) certified instructors take you through a day of learning how to build anchors to be utilized on top rope routes. We teach the class to the most up to date standards set for the by the AMGA, which is an internationally certified body setting the highest industry standards of guiding and protocols for mountain guiding. This means all the materials taught are up to date with cutting edge knowledge about the proper protocols and materials for teaching our programs. 

Your guide will teach about dynamics of your sytem, proper equipment to be used and how to evaluate existing bolts.

In this hands on class you will learn how to:

 Tie advanced climbing knots and apply them in appropriate situations- specifically the clove hitch, the figure eight, the bowline and the magic x.

 Build top rope anchors- using slings, cordelettes and static line.

 Equalize anchors- dynamically and statically and understanding the principles and forces behind the equalization process.

 Dynamics involved in top rope anchors- understanding how and where forces are applied and how this relates to your top rope system.
